ABOUT US
Habayib is owned and operated by a husband and wife team, Richard and Houda
Richard who migrated from Beirut, Lebanon at age 11 during the early years of the civil war has been living in the Moreland area since arriving in Melbourne in 1977 where he attended school at Princes Hill High School in Parkville
When I was interviewing him for this website, he told me that he must have worn out 100 pairs of shoes on the pavements of Brunswick and Coburg.
He first started work in the food industry when he established a Bakery/Cafe in North Lygon Street in 1996. Since then Richard has managed a number of cafes along with his wife and partner Houda.
Houda just loves to cook. I have seen her preparing about five different dishes simultaneously. She is simply amazing!!
Arriving in Australia in 1989, Houda first met Richard while she was working at TOTO'S Pizza restaurant in Carlton.
Helping Houda and Richard in the Kitchen of Habayib are two very talented grand-mums who between them have over 30 years of professional cooking experience.
The team at Habayib Lebanese Restaurant are committed to providing "Home-style" meals so that you the guest are able to fully absorb the culture of Lebanon through its vast range of food.
In the true spirit of the Lebanese, Habayib will welcome you like close friends at a family dinner gathering.
